The way of being is shared realization of the ultimate in, for, and from immediate worlds; it emphasizes reason, psyche, and action. The reasoning is spelled out for readers to follow—they are not asked to just accept the theses that are presented. Readers should and are expected to sustain doubt and rational and existential responses to doubt are given. Central conclusions include (i) the universe, which has identity, and all beings are (shown to be) limitless, that is the universe is the realization of all possibility—which is shown consistent with experience; limits commonly regarded as absolute (e.g., birth and death) are real but not absolute (ii) the universe phases eternally among nonmanifest, manifest, and ultimate states (iii) in the ultimate all beings merge as peak being. So, pathways way to the ultimate requires intelligent and shared action. Adventure—from limitlessness, the way is endless, ever fresh. Sources—being, nature, experience, action, reflection; and human culture and knowledge; the ideas of way of being overlap philosophical thought and what is meaningful in religion.

Why focus on ‘being’? Because (i) being is about what there is and so makes no assumption on the nature of the world, which may seem to mark being as trivial but (ii) being is a powerful conceptual container for the nature of the world and the nature and destiny of human beings.
