The ways

Ground

Begin with human CULTURE. A triad of ways is:

The PRIMAL in which seen and unseen are not split—culturally or historically.

The SECULAR which focuses on the world as seen so far.

The TRANS-SECULAR which emphasizes what is yet unseen.

Limits of culture. A conception of tradition

The post-primal tend to dogma of LIMITS of focus and approach. The seen vs. the imagined unseen as the world.

TRADITION is what is jointly valid in the triad over all cultures and times.

The limits of tradition:

Split into the seen and unseen.

Dogma makes real appreciation and communication impossible.

The WAY OF BEING has the following characteristics:

Ideas

BEING bridges the cultural triad. REASON shows the ultimate—the UNIVERSE as all being and envelope of all possibility. METAPHYSICS, the join of reason and tradition, bridges knowledge of the immediate and the ultimate. Tradition (valid culture) enables realizing the ultimate in communication with the immediate. ACTION is the process of realization; it requires and completes the ideas.

The way

Incremental realization based in the ideas. Emphasizes (a) modes of practice and action from tradition, (b) experiment with possibilities of practice and cumulative transformation informed by the metaphysics.

Aim

The AIM of the Way is discovery of the real and realization of highest immediate and ultimate forms of Civilization and Being.

The world

The universe is ultimate realization. Its essential limit is contradiction. Our cosmos is essentially infinitesimal.

The universe and its transformations

The self-identity and manifestation of the universe cycle through ever fresh peaks of realization and dissolution; amid these cycles are cosmoses without limit to their kind, size, age, and number; these are in give and take with a void and transient background that is the store of all being, identity, and memory.

Individual and civilization

The Indivi- dual

The characteristics of the INDIVIDUAL are being, experience and agency.

Civil-
ization

The ‘highest’ grouping of beings, also a being, is CIVILIZATION. HUMAN CIVILIZATION is the web of human cultures and societies over time and continents. UNIVERSAL CIVILIZATION is the matrix of civilizations arcing the universe.

The way

Design

The way

The way shall stand as an integral whole. It enables us to proceed from principle. It enables a systematic approach to ‘no stone unturned’.

A multi-fold way

Because individuals vary in temperament, an effective ‘way’ must be multifold and non exclusive.

The way should be pertinent to individual (beings, agents), cultures, and civilization.

A menu

At the same time it should be written so that individuals may also use it as a menu—i.e., according to their temperament and interest.

Particularly it should cater to an inner, an outer or instrumental focus, and—of course—a joint focus.

The ways

Inner (Being)

Ideas, intellect—the secular disciplines. Practice of yoga and meditation that encourage living in the immediate as in the ultimate and insight into physical and catalytic transformation of self. Catalytic practices emphasize the effect of the physical on the inner being: meditation, isolation, deprivation, extreme nature immersion, traditional vision quest, fast, extreme exertion, and others. Immersion politics, economics, and social transaction and realization.

Outer (Instru-mental)

Science (natural with real psychology; abstract including mathematics, information, and automation) and technology applied to physical transformation, machine augmentation, and embodiment in machines. Application of science and technology to realizations of being and civilization. Instrumental politics, and economics, and social transaction and realization.
