My father was from India, my mother from Britain. I was born and spent my childhood
and youth in India – mostly in the university town of Kharagpur; my father was a Professor at the
Indian Institute of Technology, there. I have lived in Delaware, and upstate New York, Texas, California. I have hiked in wild and natural New York, Texas, New
Mexico, Colorado, Mexico, California. My undergraduate education was at
the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur in West Bengal. I have a Master’s degree in Applied
Mathematics and a Bachelor’s and a PHD in mechanical / aerospace engineering
– with a focus on mathematics and science – from the University of Delaware.
I have: been a university professor –
