The original concept was to provide a unified account of symbolic systems: symbol, icon, language, logic, mathematics and art

The following documents and others provide a significantly improved though incomplete account:

Kinds of Knowledge

Journey in Being

If I return to write on this topic later, the cited articles and the extracts below may be useful

A SCIENCE OF SYMBOLIC SYSTEMS: EXTRACTS

The actualization of BEING involves the actualization [through evolution] of a stable dyad of mutually sustaining potentials

An asymmetry develops between the elements of the dyad. One of the elements becomes “information” of which special cases are gene, symbol, language, logic, mathematics

The encoding of the symbol permits evolution to become cumulative and “intelligent”

This description implies no ontological prejudice [toward materialism, idealism, and others]

A science of symbolic systems, then, is a rational-empirical-enumerative survey and analysis of symbolic systems with special emphasis of the genesis of such systems as implied by the items above
