Plan

Make the outline. Using the comments below extract an outline from the new version, the central statements, and toward brevity (the latter will first be used to reduce some material in the new version).

Modify the new version using the outline. Most detail will remain in the new version. Minimize this detail.

Using this outline. This outline will be used for later writing in the field, for ‘notes from the edge’, and—after accomplishment in transformation which may be insight—for writing a later version of journey in being (perhaps with a new title). Place the foregoing content of this paragraph in an appropriate place—the new version or here. If here, eliminate this part after eliminating the material below.

Modify this document. Make modifications to the title and so on as appropriate.

Eliminate material. Specifically, the central statements, and toward brevity and this section.

Preface

At the core of this book are two points of focus that reveal the universe and human destiny as greater than seen in the written record. The first focus is a worldview or philosophical metaphysics—the universe realizes all possibilities. The second is a consequence—all beings realize the universe but for limited form this is a journey without end. These foci are complemented by a third—a study of destiny as understood in human culture that provides ground, motive, and insight for the core.

This preface is a guide to the book. It shows the narrative flow giving prominence to the foci. It tells what is new and where care may be needed to understand the content. It makes suggestions on negotiating the material. It highlights the significance that is immanent in the material.

Introduction

The introduction is about the origin and significance of the phrase ‘journey in being’.

Prologue

The prologue is an overview of our inherited visions, rational and speculative, regarding the universe and the place of sentient being in it.

Foundation

Make a decision where to place the preliminaries on metaphysics. It may be distributed but it is currently too diffuse—the material is distributed among this division, the preface, the prologue, and the division on metaphysics.

Metaphysics

All detail remains to be filled in.

Journey

The way ahead

Decide title. Make it the same here as in the discursive flow.

Notes from the edge

Decide title. Make it the same here as in the discursive flow.

Epilogue

Need an epilogue? Place it before notes from the edge?
