In trying to live to the fullest, I tried experiments in ideas and action.
I arrived at an open-ended question: What is the greatest that an individual—any being—can do or be?
I pursued these questions in universal form—for my purposes and for those of civilization.
The fundamental concepts—definition by naming a given, conceptual definition; especially difference, Being, and experience.
by naming a given. Extension-def=def by concept . object.
Experience-def as phenomenal awareness
Being-def / $Being. Fundamental question—What has Being?
The categories are sameness and difference, experience, Being, a being or beings, universe, and the void.
Other important concepts are metaphysics, argument, concept—two meanings, concrete object, abstract object, actuality, possibility (general, natural, cosmological, sentient and logical), Logic.
Metaphysics-def: knowledge of the real and has already begun above. Note that the nature and criterion for knowledge have not been given and are to emerge as part of the development.
Note that the definitions of Being and experience may be taken as abstract concepts. Abstract concept-def: omission of detail from a concrete concept sufficient to perfect knowledge by correspondence.
A being / beings-def
Universe-def. There is exactly one universe
Possibility—(1) Possibility . a
being-def: concept . constitution (2) Actuality . a being
Þ Possibility . the being (3) Actuality . the
universe º Possibility . the
universe = Universal possibility (4) Natural / cosmological /
sentient possibility-def: concept . natural law / cosmological laws and conservation
limits / sentient limits and designs (5) Logical possibility-def:
concept . any
Void . properties Þ the fundamental principle of metaphysics (FP).
Since the foregoing employs abstract concepts, powerful abstract metaphysics is shown possible by construction.
Consequences of the fundamental principle—metaphysics and the meaning of the principle; and beginnings of cosmological and agentive consequences. This is a perfect complete-in-principle abstract-concrete metaphysics by construction. It is ultimate in showing the universe to be ultimate realization.
FP: (1) Universal possibility = Logical possibility (2) The universe is the greatest (logically) possible—but not in the sense of moral or aesthetic value or perfection which do not pertain to the universe. Note: Logic º universal possibility is an empirical definition of Logic.
FP . consequences. The universe has identity; the universe, its identity, extension, variety, peak and dissolution, are limitless; which includes limitless arrays of cosmoses of limitless physical law and form of life and experience; from the foregoing (explicitly) / Logic (implicitly); FP is consistent with and necessitates all valid tradition, our known cosmos, and experience; individuals are the universe—in peaking (they merge with it), and in potential.
In outline, FP and its consequences are abstract and perfect fact and knowledge by correspondence. In contrast knowledge of this world—the bulk of tradition—is concrete and pragmatic—imperfect by correspondence and coherence, pragmatic by (and potentially perfect in) use. FP Þ the latter imperfection is necessary, which therefore is not a lament, and which does not invalidate but sheds light on traditional attempts toward ‘perfection’. But, FP reveals the ultimate as an ultimate value and the combination of the perfect abstract and pragmatic concrete as perfect metaphysics (the perfect criterion of knowledge is not given a priori but is a consequence of FP). And the mesh is dynamic: the perfect abstract (‘pure’ metaphysics) illuminates the pragmatic concrete (‘these worlds’, pragmatic metaphysics) while the latter illustrates the former and the dual is perfect instrument of realization and reveals a perfect dual epistemology. This is a perfect complete-in-principle abstract-concrete metaphysics by construction (‘in principle’ means that while the abstract side is complete, the concrete side is ever in process). It is ultimate in showing the universe to be ultimate realization.
The sections on metaphysics have some material cosmology and agency.
This section and the next on the way are essentially continuation of perfect metaphysics
Cosmology is study and knowledge of the origins, formation, variety, evolution and dynamics of Being. Agency is use of intelligence and free will in conceiving the nature of the universe, value, and creation of and selection of choice in the immediate and the ultimate.
Details are omitted in this brief version. If some brief comments are to be added they would regard (a) cosmology—models of formation, (b) agency—dynamics of identity and agency.
The way. FP Þ individuals cycle in universal peaks of realization; always beginning in ‘this world’ as foundation and immediate value; freshness is eternal; pain is unavoidable but also a ‘teacher’; there is choice to engage or not; engagement enhances enjoyment, efficiency, and peak of realization; there are ever in process, often idealized, ways of realization derived from tradition, FP, experience, reason, and agency.
Tentative and in process templates for the way may be developed and given.
The process is ongoing, dynamic, and learning.
A fundamental principle is to optimally combine the problems and opportunities of this life with the eternal and the ultimate.
What remains is realization and sharing.
