PURPOSE

This is an essential outline and when done it will be a template for and will replace the current long outline.

The outline may be basis for a work with two volumes, (1) Metaphysics (content: Ideas) (2) Being (content: Being—i.e., Be-ing and Becoming)

Introduction and other preliminary material

This will present the aim, introduction and other preliminary considerations.

The material may be absorbed strategically into the body that follows.

The title of the three main parts, Ideas, Being, and Manifestation are provisional. Here they are organized as two main sections, Ideas and Being. Being has two sub-sections: Be-ing and Becoming (manifestation). All titles are provisional.

IDEAS

The ideas are a symbolic representation of the world.

As such they are a thin embodiment of being. However they are not without ‘body’.

As abstract they do not constitute non-being or non-manifestation. They are both but only an abstraction from them. This is of course their deficiency.

The purpose of the ideas

Their power is that they show in abstract the contours of being and the universe. They show where being and manifestation may go.

Of course they are not to be regarded only in isolation. Ideas, Being, and Manifestation stand together. They all draw on the tradition for inspiration but all recognize that there is no absolute a priori.

BEING

Be-ing

Or Being in the present.

This part develops a program for realization of being—individual and civilization—in the present and projected future.

It is roughly the subject of such disciplines as yoga, spirituality, and religion. Here however, in light of the ideas there is no need for axiom or belief in their traditional function.

Purpose of the part on being

The purpose is embodied realization in the present. It involves heart-mind and spirit. In view of the metaphysics it must remain experimental, imaginative, and critical at least as long as the form of being is limited.

Becoming (or manifestation)

Alternate or supplementary titles include action and realization.

This part charts the realizations of being as a process whose ground is the eternal now and whose aim is the ultimate.

It might be thought that there is some final absolute state to be achieved by some being (if not us then perhaps god). However, while the metaphysics allows and requires peaks without end it disallows any final state such as Aeternitas, Brahman, God, Nirvana, Heaven or Hell. Manifestation is a journey.

Purpose of the manifestations

The purpose of this section is to describe the journey and its means.
